This piece is called a “Mamluk” rug, originated from Afghanistan. Mamluk rug are meant to showcase very classic 1800s designed Turkish and Persian rug. Mamluk rugs in general always try to focus the rug around medallions in the middle, or scattered throughout the rug. Handmade Mamluk-inspired designs are highly sought after today and many feature the signature intersecting compartments surrounding bold medallions.
This rug is also using “Merino Wool” which is known throughout the world as one of the finest and softest qualities of wool, often being even softer than cashmere. Due to the fine fibers of the wool, it takes twice as much material to construct these kinds of wool, making the process harder and the end the rug, much more valuable.

Very easy to clean: with a vacuum cleaner or a simple shampoo + water for any stains.
