It is a well-made hand-knotted Afghan Khalmohammadi rug made with sheep wool on a wool foundation by Afghan Turkmen. This strong and durable rug will serve you for a long time under everyday usage. The design itself is one of the most popular choice for the people of Afghanistan for almost 2 decades now. It is one of the pillars of handmade rugs in the country.

The rug is soft and has a nice velvet-like sheen to it.

The fibers are densely packed and the carpet has an overall nice weight to it. The colors are a lot more pigmented than in the photos… so while the reds and blues in the picture shown to come off as more of a rosy red and navy blue… it's actually DEEP ox-blood and inky blue. The colors however take on a life of their own in different kinds of light.

Very durable and meant to last for a lifetime without losing it's quality. Excellent for high usage areas. 100% Wool with an additional Wool Foundation at the root.
