Description
These wonderful tribal Barjasta rugs are woven by the Mushwani people in Herat provinces of Afghanistan. They feature a unique mixed weave structure including knotted pile. This is considered one of the most difficult handmade rug weaving, as they make the flat weave kilim first and then make the pile on top of some patterns. The Mushwani are descendants of Turkmens and a tribe located south of Herat near Shindand. They are sometimes incorrectly identified as a Baluch tribe. Origin: Afghanistan Type: Mushwani handmade rug Size: 187 X 128 (cm) or 6’7X4’2 Ft Composition: 100% Wool Pile and Foundation Colour: As pictured Design: Geometric KPSI Approx: Flat Weave and pile
