It is a well-made hand-knotted Afghan Khalmohammadi rug made with sheep wool on a cotton foundation by Afghan Turkmen. This strong and durable rug will serve you for a long time under everyday usage.
The rug is soft and has a nice velvet-like sheen to it.
The fibers are densely packed and the carpet has an overall nice weight to it. The colors are a lot more pigmented than in the photos… so while the reds and blues in the picture shown to come off as more of a rosy red and navy blue… it’s actually DEEP ox-blood and inky blue. The colors however take on a life of their own in different kinds of light.
Keep in mind that the rug is darker than the photos shown.
